My professional journey has been a rich mix of legal roles and advocacy efforts, all centered around human rights and justice causes. Starting as a legal apprentice at the Attorney General's Department, I gradually moved through various positions—legal researcher, junior lawyer, and legal advisor—culminating in my most recent role as a program manager for Sri Lanka at Legal Action Worldwide (LAW).
At LAW, I've led initiatives in policy, research, and legal advocacy, fostering crucial partnerships in Sri Lanka and securing funding for new programs. In previous roles, I've been deeply involved in gender justice, drafting legal submissions for UN rapporteurs, and collaborating closely with local and international legal bodies and civil society organizations.
I hold a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Colombo and have additional specialized diplomas in Gender and Women's Studies and Commercial Arbitration. Currently, I'm pursuing an Advanced LL.M. in European and International Human Rights Law at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
