Aidsfonds – Soa Aids Nederland works towards a world where no one dies of aids anymore and where people are sexually healthy, so that everyone can love freely and without fear. Junior Fundraising Officer
36 hours per week

What does the team do and what will you do

The Development & Partnerships Team is responsible for securing resources essential to advancing Aidsfonds' mission to end HIV and AIDS and ensure universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care. We do this by building sustained, diverse funding streams through engagement with a wide range of donors, including government and institutional partners, private donors, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), corporate sponsors, and foundations. Our efforts span individual giving, small grants and large multi-year grants, aiming to maintain and strengthen a robust and diverse grant portfolio. Working hand-in-hand with other teams within our organization, we nurture these partnerships to ensure that our programs can grow and we can move closer to a future free of AIDS and access to sexual health care for all.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Provide support in due diligence processes of potential donors, researching grants, and updating the donor database. This includes regularly scanning for funding opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
• Enhance our grants portfolio. This involves staying up-to-date on relevant policy developments, fundraising ideas, and funding opportunities that align with our goals and communicating them to the team.
• Proactively engage with donors, participate in networking events, webinars, and other forums to strengthen relationships.
• Assist in writing compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate our projects' impacts and needs, weaving a narrative that connects with funders’ goals and aspirations,
• Assist in grant proposal process ranging from inception and submission phase. This includes preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

• An exciting position
• An employment contract initially for one year and permanent employment after good performance and sufficient funding
• A salary between € 3.447 and € 4.830 gross per month (scale 9) for 36 hours per week, grading will depend on your experience
• An individual choice budget (IKB) of 16.96% that you can use at your own discretion for money, time or spend fiscally advantageous on products or services
• Hybrid working: You will work at our office in Amsterdam (Sloterdijk) or partly from home.

• 208 hours of leave on a full-time basis (36 hours) and you can buy additional leave via the IKB
• Personal development budget of €650 per year based on 36 hours

Are you

Someone who looks at issues from different perspectives, and do you find a connection with the communities we work with: people living with HIV, young people, children, LGBTQ+, (former) sex workers, (ex-)drug users, because you can draw on your own experience or have met members of these communities up close. And are you:

• University or HBO (university of applied science) degree or relevant working experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A strong interest in fundraising, networking and relationship management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in English; Dutch is a high plus, French is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS related work and/or fundraising is preferred but not required.
• Permit to work in The Netherlands
