Omschrijving

PAX is the largest peace organisation in the Netherlands. For the past 75 years, we have been working with local partners in conflict areas worldwide to protect civilians. Against violence of war, towards ending armed conflict and building inclusive peace. If you also believe that everyone has the right to a dignified life in a peaceful society, come work with us!

PAX is looking for a new

Intern
Strengthening Civil Courage

Do you have a passion for translating programme results into engaging communication messages and content creation while contributing to peace? Can you facilitate the understanding of results frameworks for broader audiences? And would you like to contribute to enhancing the understanding of PAX’s work in the context of peace and conflict? Then this internship at PAX is perfect for you!

As Strengthening Civil Courage (SCC) intern, you will join the GACSI team, in which Policy Advisors also work on Gender, Peace & Conflict, Civic Change, and Localisation. You will support the SCC Coordinator, who works closely with the different departments in the office, particularly the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (PMEL) team. Together with the SCC Coordinator and the support of GACSI colleagues, you will contribute to communicating and dissemination the results of the SCC programme.

What will you do?

You will work directly with the SCC Coordinator to compile the programme’s main results, ensuring that the engagement and communication plan is comprehensive and effective. The internship will focus on the SCC plan to disseminate results across various levels of the Alliance. Additionally, you will facilitate communication between the PMEL and Engagement team. For instance, you will actively assist both teams in translating MEL results into clear and effective communication messages to different PAX audiences and shared across various platforms.

Who are we looking for?

  • A student enrolled in a bachelor's or master's programme, or equivalent professional level, in fields such as peace and conflict, development or international studies, or related areas;
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation is not a requirement but is a plus;
  • Interest in connecting data results to communication messages, with some knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies;
  • Multitasking skills, with the ability to easily switch between different tasks and keep an overview, even during busy periods;
  • Someone who works well independently, but also enjoys being part of a team in which your own initiative is encouraged;
  • Alignment with PAX’s mission and values;
  • Eligible to work in the EU.

What do we offer?

  • A unique experience working within a politically oriented, dynamic peace organization based in Utrecht, The Netherlands;
  • An introduction to the various programmes within the largest peace organization in the Netherlands;
  • Internship duration and working hours in consultation, preferably from February 2025 to July 2025 for 24 to 32 hours per week;
  • Internship allowance incl. travel expenses up to a maximum of € 360 per month on a full-time basis (36 hours per week).
