Opleiding
As a dedicated History undergraduate student at Erasmus University Rotterdam, I am deeply passionate about understanding the past and its impact on contemporary society. My academic journey has provided me with a strong foundation in historical analysis, research methodologies, and critical thinking, which I am eager to apply professionally. With a focus area in International Relations and a minor in the Evolution of International Order, I am particularly interested in the intersection of history, policy analysis, and international affairs.
My major objective is to explore and preserve historical narratives through comprehensive research and to communicate and relate this narrative to current global challenges. I have worked considerably on projects such as my first-year Bachelor thesis, "Female Agency in Early Modern England and Modern Feminism," and my current undergraduate thesis, "Discourse Analysis of Hillary Clinton's Public Remarks on Afghanistan, 2009-2013" In this thesis, I intend to explore the varying intentions and motivations of the United States foreign policy and military presence in Afghanistan in the years of Hillary Clinton´s tenure as Secretary of State. These experiences have helped me improve my abilities to assess historical material, undertake extensive archive research, and create captivating tales. Furthermore, my interest in international economic ties and global politics has motivated my desire to contribute to organizations that connect history to present global concerns. Furthermore, one of my main ambitions is to articulate history in a way that engages across generations. History is frequently viewed as being detached or disassociated from daily life, although its teachings are more important than ever. Whether via digital media, education, or public interaction, I am seeking to find new methods to make history more interesting, accessible, and significant. An internship would provide an excellent chance for me to hone my communication skills, contribute my analytical ability, and engage with people who share our objectives.
