The IKEA Foundation is a philanthropy dedicated to tackling poverty and the climate crisis. Founded by Swedish entrepreneur Ingvar Kamprad, we are proud to share the heritage and values of the business he started – IKEA. Though we operate independently from IKEA, we hold a common vision: to create a better everyday life for the many people.

To pursue this vision, we make grants to expert partners around the world that are working to help people create sustainable livelihoods, and fight and cope with climate change. This support is made possible by financial resources generated over decades of IKEA business success. To date, we have provided more than €2 billion in funding to our partners and currently grant approximately €200 million each year.

The IKEA Foundation is seeking an experienced, visionary and driven Chief Communications Officer (CCO) to strengthen their team. The Chief Communications Officer (CCO) will shape and lead the IKEA Foundation’s communications strategy to amplify our mission to create a better everyday life for people and the planet. The CCO will ensure that the IKEA Foundation’s initiatives are effectively shared with stakeholders, partners and the broader public, centering the voices closest to the issues, fostering awareness and driving transformative change. This senior leadership role requires a strategic communicator with a deep understanding of philanthropy.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CCO will lead at an organisational level, embedding a unified approach to communication across the Foundation to enhance impact on climate action, sustainable livelihoods, and humanitarian support. In this role, you will be part of a small but enthusiastic team of people committed to making a difference. The position is 38 hours, based at the Foundation’s office in Leiden, the Netherlands.
