Who are you? 

  • You are an energetic, stress-resistant and dedicated people manager with a coaching and attentive leadership style. 
  • You are result driven in optimising work processes. 
  • You have experience in project management, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s working and thinking level.  
  • You have at least ten years of work experience in a similar role and experience in 
    developing, implementing, and evaluating departmental plans. 
  • You bring analytical, advisory and coaching skills along with a keen interest in SMEs and development cooperation.  
  • You have excellent command of the English and Dutch language. 
  • You are experienced in using various digital systems including Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics.  

Being a Manager Operations 

The operations department, consisting of 18 project officers, is at the core of PUM’s work around the globe. The project officers’ responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all projects, from initial inquiries to execution and making travel arrangements, in close cooperation with country and sector coordinators. As manager operations you play a key role within the organisation, both as part of the management team and in managing a diverse and international team of dedicated project officers. You will be actively involved in policy development, implementation, advising and resolving bottlenecks. Curious about what being a manager of operations looks like on a daily basis? Just to name a few responsibilities: 

  • Leading and coaching a diverse and international team consisting of 18 people.  
  • Optimising work processes and cooperation with volunteers and departments. 
  • Preparing and executing the annual department plan within the framework of the organisational policy. 
  • Act as Travel, Health & Safety Officer, responsible for executing the safety protocol within PUM. 
  • Together with the COO preparing contracts with external organisations (such as travel agencies, visa agencies, etc.) relevant to the operations department, and also monitoring contract agreements. 
  • Preparing the department budget and monitoring the allocated budget. 

 Ins and outs of the role of Manager Operations 

As a full-time role at PUM (37.5 hours), the manager operations position offers a competitive salary between the range of €4.971,- and €7.102,- , depending on the experience you bring. We provide numerous perks, including a 13th-month bonus. Our stunning office is conveniently located within walking distance of The Hague Central Station.
