About HackYourFuture

HackYourFuture (HYF) is a nonprofit coding program founded in Amsterdam in 2016. We're dedicated to providing education and job opportunities in tech to refugees across the Netherlands, who face barriers entering the labour market. Our mission is to make education and high-quality jobs accessible to everyone, with a primary goal of placing people into tech roles. Through our free 7-month coding program, developed with the help of volunteers and the private sector, we've helped over 400 individuals in the Netherlands alone find rewarding careers in tech.

Join our team: Lead with vision and impact

As the Managing Director of HackYourFuture, you will be driving the strategic direction of the organisation whilst securing its financial health. Together with our Diversity & Inclusion lead and other team members, you’ll ensure that HYF continues to open doors to quality employment for our graduates. You will also be responsible for cultivating relationships with key funders and stakeholders, while nurturing a culture of inclusivity and empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Shape a compelling vision for the future of HYF. You'll navigate the intricate worlds of corporate and public sectors to build valuable relationships and represent HYF at events, boost our visibility and create networking opportunities.
• Fundings & Public Relations: Proactively seek funding opportunities and draft grant proposals that secure the resources we need to operate. Manage our public relations and media engagements in order to acquire more funds.
• Partnership Management: Develop and maintain a robust network of partner organisations committed to supporting refugees. Strengthen existing partnerships and forge new ones to enhance our programs and expand our impact.
• Financial Oversight: Manage our finances, from budgeting to expense control.
• Team Development: Our team is central to our success. In this role, you'll nurture each team member's growth whilst allowing them the space to work independently, fostering collaboration and innovation across the organisation.

What we are looking for

• Minimum of five years of management experience.

• Strong grant-writing skills and experience securing funding.

• Ability to navigate the corporate and public sectors and to work with government organisations like COA, Gemeentes, IND.

• An ethical and innovative mindset, aligned with the HYF mission.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Financial literacy.

• Native Dutch speaker.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with refugees, volunteers or in education.

• A strong network within the corporate or public sectors.

• Experience managing a non-profit organisation

2. A meeting at our office in Amsterdam
3. If successful, you'll meet with one of our board members for a final discussion, offering a chance to further explore your alignment with our vision.
