Aidsfonds - Soa Aids Nederland is working towards a world where no one dies of AIDS anymore and where people are sexually healthy, so that everyone can love freely and without fear. We do this together with the people who are hardest hit by STIs and HIV because of discrimination and exclusion. We strengthen their voice and support them with information, knowledge and financing. For the love of all loves. We are working in the Netherlands, in two focus regions and in 10 countries worldwide.

The International Department is responsible for funding community-led action to increase access to health and rights and conducting global advocacy towards these aims. We focus on communities of populations living with or affected by HIV (including LGBTIQ+ people, sex workers, people who use drugs, youth, women and children) in ten countries and two regions worldwide. To join our Children, Youth & Women Team, we are looking for a:

Senior Project Officer Paediatric HIV
32 hours per week

Location: Amsterdam (this is not a remote position)

What does the team do and what are you going to do

Worldwide, women, young people and children continue to account for a disproportionate number of new HIV infections and AIDS deaths. We have the tools to ensure that people living with HIV can live a healthy and long life, and that new infections can be prevented. Gender- and power stand in the way of access to good prevention, treatment and care for many women, young people and children. Aidsfonds is committed to supporting these communities to access their health and rights. The Children, Youth & Women team contributes to this aim by fundraising for, co-creating and funding community-focused partnerships, projects and global advocacy.

Aidsfonds’ paediatric HIV programme focuses on underserved children living with HIV: an estimated 43% of children aged 0-14 years living with HIV are not on treatment, including 37% undiagnosed. In order to reach these children, we invest in and work closely with community-based organisations. Strong and well-funded partnerships between global alliances, national and district governments, health systems and community structures are essential to reach all children living with HIV, ultimately leading to our dream goals: no children die of AIDS, all children living with HIV should know their status, stay in care and on treatment, have viral suppression and experience well-being.

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Senior Project Officer with a focus on leveraging resources to fund impactful paediatric HIV programmes and advocacy to maximise impact for children affected by HIV.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning: contribute to strategic plans, analyse trends, needs and developments,

program evaluation and improvement

  • Strategic advocacy: resource mobilization and allocation, collaborate on advocacy initiatives, stakeholder engagement
  • Fundraising and Funding: co-develop fundraising strategies, proposal writing, donor relations and programme management
  • Partnership Building and Management: identify potential partners, negotiate partnerships, collaboration & networking
  • Convening and Stakeholder Engagement: organize stakeholder meetings/events, facilitate discussions, public relations concerning our paediatric HIV work
  • Grant Management: manage, monitor and evaluate grants, tracking and reporting outcomes, knowledge management.

We offer:
First, we offer you an ambitious, inclusive, and diverse organization in which we work together in an accessible, open, and inspiring atmosphere and deliver quality based on appealing goals and clear roles. In this way we contribute to a world where there are no longer any deaths from AIDS and where people enjoy good sexual health. You are welcome as you are, who you love or what you believe. We are curious about your talents and your social drive to work with us on our mission. You look at issues from different perspectives and you connect with the communities with whom we work, because you can draw on your own experience, have become acquainted with members of these communities or are interested in: people living with HIV, women, youth and children or (former) sex workers.

In addition, we offer:

  • An exciting position in an international team and ambitious organisation

  • 208 hours of leave on a full-time basis (36 hours), and the option to buy extra leave via IKB
  • A NS business card for all public transport for your commute to work
  • A personal development budget of €650 per year.

You bring:

  • Knowledge of paediatric HIV prevention and care and the broader policy landscape, enabling effective allocation of funds to high-impact initiatives.
  • Experience in designing, managing and evaluating grants, with a keen eye for identifying scalable, evidence-based interventions.
  • Proven ability to facilitate and build partnerships and collaborations among NGOs, funders, governments, communities and other stakeholders to advance programmatic and policy solutions that improve paediatric HIV outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess program effectiveness, track health outcomes and ensure funding is directed toward measurable impact.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate and raise funds for funding models and strategies to diverse stakeholders, including (potential) donors.
  • Skilled in designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program success and ensure that funded initiatives are achieving desired health and policy outcomes.
  • Commitment to long-term change: focused on funding initiatives that contribute to sustainable, systemic change in paediatric HIV care and prevention worldwide.

And you are:

  • A sparkling and energetic person
  • Inclusive to all communities we work with
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Based in the Netherlands.
