WE program Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (senior)
- 1 actieve vacature (bekijk)
Omschrijving
WE Program (www.we-program.community) - WE is a dialogue based programme, an innovative methodology of how to work with complex challenges, a global learning community, and an unconventional, yet powerful philosophy of how to collaborate. It is an alternative answer to auditing and certification that is focused on improving the working conditions of people in global supply chains.
Oasis - A story-centric alternative to conventional monitoring and evaluation tools to understand the impact of our work. Traditional impact measurement is suitable for evaluating closed systems with clear boundaries in time and space. It expects and needs a high level of predictability. This is not the space in which the WE program operates. Oasis is our answer to impact measuring in a complex system. It is a sense-making tool that uses machine-reading and statistical analysis to quickly find patterns in large groups of stories.
Our work begins and ends with stories. Collecting large volumes of stories through Oasis gives us an opportunity to find patterns through many different methods that might otherwise remain unnoticed. These are more than just stories, they are real lived experiences of our partners. These stories are a key part of our work to collectively create meaningful change. To us, everyone’s story matters.
Since we launched Oasis in 2022, we have collected more than 5000 stories from the field. As we have grown, so has interest in our approach. We have recently expanded the number of brands that are part of the WE Program, and many others have shown interest in Oasis. We are currently working together to understand where this growth might lead us in the future!
// What we do…
Child labour in the supply chain. Female garment workers being abused. Excessive working hours, low wages, poor safety standards, and restricted freedom of movement or debt bondage. People living in overcrowded and unsafe living conditions. Merely doing the analysis is not enough. When the question comes, now what can we actually DO? WE is the answer.
WE works where large groups of people do the hard work under difficult circumstances. Those people are too often labelled ‘voiceless’, uneducated or unwilling, while the truth is actually the opposite. WE supports in areas where the complexity of the system causes harm and easy solutions are not the answer. Where you need to work together to move forward, but the reality on the ground makes it tough to do so. Where the effects of power, hierarchy, and gender discrimination are painfully obvious, but still ignored. In short, those places where one person or simple solutions alone cannot change the system.
Connecting the patterns we see in stories to the work on the ground is a core function of Oasis, one that is key to this role.
