Passionate and motivated to make a meaningful impact in the realm of Development Studies, I am eagerly seeking for opportunities to advance my career within this field.
I hold a recent Master's degree in International Development Studies from Utrecht University, where I acquired a knowledge and expertise through a curriculum, coupled with hands-on experience conducting international field research to gather data for my Master's thesis.
Opleiding
Master thesis research focus: how to make the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process more inclusive. Data gathering: 3 months in Indonesia, as part of the Social Impact assessment team of Royal Haskoning DHV.
Interdisciplinary LDE-minor with courses between Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam
Bachelor thesis research focus: the presence of colonial language in Dutch written media of the late 20th century and its implications, specifically focusing on the Rwandan genocide of 1994.
Including several weeks gaining experience teaching in multiple high schools. Transferring to University to pursue my interest in academic research after successfully passing my first year.
Ervaring
Hosting a session on “Inclusivity and Challenges in Social Impact Assessments”. Including interactive discussions and debate with attendees on ideas and challenges concerning inclusive Development Projects.
As part of the ESIA team, writing detailed reports and presentations on research findings and results for stakeholders.
Working in collaboration with a interdisciplinary team of researchers to develop innovative solutions to challenging problems.
Worked on research strategies to identify social impacts and develop possible mitigation measures for vulnerable groups. Conducted focus group discussions and social surveys to gather qualitative and quantitative data. Carrying out mixed methods data analysis using advanced statistics software such as SPSS.
3 months of field research/site visit in Malaysia on the sustainability and presumptions concerning the palm oil industry.
