My name means 'Everything has Time' and finds its origin in West Africa. What makes this so notable is that I am not very patient. As if my parents knew this from day one and thought I could appreciate the irony. What I am is eager to learn, driven and creative.
At the age of 12, I fled to the Netherlands with my family because of a civil war in my native country Liberia. This life experience has shaped me into an empathetic and adaptive person. I see adversity as an opportunity for growth and reflection, a disposition that is a common thread throughout my professional and personal life
Opleiding
How do people care for each other? Anyone who asks themselves this question will soon encounter challenging (political) ethical issues that play a role in our society. From questions about market forces and human dignity, to questions about technological progress and social inequality - everything is sharpened by the healthcare perspective.
The question of what constitutes good care, including a moral perspective, is raised in a society made up of people of different religions, worldviews and cultures. This requires reflection on and the development of a personal vision.
Whitin this Master's I investigate the question of what is morally good in all kinds of practices of care and policy. I have discover how this can serve as a basis for humane and meaningful improvements. Theoretical and philosophical as well as practical, and from both policy and social perspectives.
On completion of my Bachelor’s Degree I was able to reflect and self-evaluate to be a lifelong learner. I am able to think critically, reason and use judgment in all aspects of nursing practices. I can integrate evidence-based practices in all aspects of care and service delivery. Furthermore, I’m able to identify the values of the nursing profession and reflect on personal values and beliefs and be empowered to advocate for people in their care. I’m a reflexive practitioner and e culturally competent and empathetic.
